Halloween safety tips for pet owners

www.Amazingcritterproducts.com

Young Williams Animal Center released some tips Monday for keeping your dogs and cats safe.

Everyone else might be eating candy, but your pet should not. Stick to pet treats for your furry friend.

Chocolate can be dangerous for dogs and cats if ingested. Candies containing the artificial sweetener xylitol can also harm your pets.

If your pet does ingest something toxic, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at

1- 888 -426-4435.

While decorating your home, place decorations with candles out of reach.
Pets can easily knock them over, leading to fires.
Be sure to keep them away from your pets along with decorations with electrical cords and wiring.

Pet owners have plenty of costume options for their furry friend, but not all animals enjoyed being dressed up.
If your dog or cat seems distressed in a costume, switch to a bandana or a festive leash.
Also, check the costume for any hazards such as buttons they can choke on and make sure they won't get tangled in the costume when walking.

You'll get plenty of knocks and doorbell rings on Halloween.
Make sure your pet doesn't slip out when you open the door for trick-or-treaters on Halloween.
Think about keeping them in a separate room during trick-or-treating hours.
If they do get out, make sure your pet has the correct identification or a microchip in case it does get lost.

Hi,
 I am new to blogger....

I wanted to introduce myself! My name is Giva Solana, and I will be blogging about all kinds of animals. Who doesn't love animals...right? There is so much information out there and  I would like to share it with you.

So, I will try to post something interesting a couple of times a week. Stay tuned!

In the meantime you can check out my website, if you like.....
Professionally, I paint animal/pet portraits. A few years back I discovered, that I really have a passion for studying and painting animal faces. They all have such unique expressions, and I love capturing that on canvas! anyway....You can see my work on my website: www.amazingcritterproducts.com.
